On Trend: Crystals & Beauty

Beauty trends come and go but the re-emergence of crystals as a healing & rejuvenating beauty tool is exciting stuff!  Read on to discover the benefits of crystals for both inner peace and outer beauty.

Crystals in history

Lunar charged energy crystals have been used for their potential to heal skin and balance energy for centuries.  Documented history alleges Cleopatra used gemstones for their healing qualities and have been found as burial artifacts within tombs belonging to the Ancient Egyptians.  Even further back than this, crystals have been used by humans as talismans, guides, and healing implements.

How do they work?

Although in the modern day there is clear separation between magic and medicine, it is widely accepted that due to the high frequency upon which crystals vibrate – much higher than that of the human body – coupled with the electrical charge that they omit, crystals can boost blood circulation to the area that they are placed and when used in conjunction with moisturisers or serums, intensify the effect of the formulations.

Why should I use crystals as part of my face care routine?

As well as providing a light electrical charge and stimulating vibration, when used as part of a skincare routine, crystals produce extraordinary exfoliating and illuminating properties for the skin.  Using crystals for only 1-2 minutes a day as a massage tool helps to rid the skin of dead skin cells and improve the overall complexion. Furthermore, the muscle stimulating massage boosts circulation which encourages the reduction in the appearance of premature ageing.

Which are the best crystals to use?

Aquamarine – Recognised as a stone to encourage cellular renewal and encourage natural anti-ageing properties within the body.

Rose Quartz - Rejuvenating, boosts circulation and invites oxygen into the skin to increase glow.

Jade – A powerful anti-ageing stone.

I’m nervous about using crystals, can they cause me harm?

Crystals should never be ingested as they may contain heavy metals or other compounds that have been pressed together during formation phase deep underground.  Crystal stones are safe to handle, wear and use as a massage device.

I’m sceptical about crystals, is it all Hocus Pocus?

It is said that the power of crystals comes from the energy charge of the Moon and the Earth in which they have emerged.  Harnessing this energy is relatively simple – you just have to incorporate crystal massage into your face care routine.  However, regardless of which side of the belief fence you sit on, using these gentle stones as a simple massage device harnesses the benefits of facial massage by aiding lymphatic drainage and calming inflamed skin.  Overall, you will notice an improvement in the appearance of your skin over time.

Crystals and Sakrid

We are big fans of everything natural at Sakrid and encourage the use of crystals within beauty rituals.  The act of using a crystal as part of your routine helps you to ‘ritualise’ this time for peace and self-reflection.  Many people are new to these stones and so we have created a series of demonstration videos that will be appearing on our social media pages throughout September to provide guidance.

Let me know how you get on – I love to receive emails from our Sakrid tribe.  Email me at: hello@sakrid.com

We make good products, using good ingredients, that are good for you and good for our planet. All good things - We are Sakrid.
